A-TEK, Inc. today announced that its Federal Civilian Division has been appraised at Maturity Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) for Development (DEV) and Services (SVC). The appraisal was performed utilizing SCAMPI V1.3 by Mark Schilling, principal at Schilling Knowledge Engineering LLC.
CMMI® is a capability improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve performance. Achieving Level 3 under dual constellations: Development (DEV) and Services (SVC) indicates the company is performing at a “defined” level, employing processes that are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.
A-TEK, Inc. is also ISO 9001:2008 certified. “Achieving CMMI was a key strategic corporate initiative for 2017. This is a huge accomplishment for A-TEK and I am thrilled that we accomplished it in the timeframe we set for ourselves. The addition of CMMI® ML 3 for DEV and SVC will serve to drive consistencies in our processes, improved service delivery to our customers and further demonstrates our commitment to quality and continuous organizational process improvement. Coupled with our ISO 900l:2008 certification, our CMMI appraisal ratings will further enhance and strengthen our ability to serve the needs of our federal government customers”, stated Kathryn Freeland, President and CEO of A-TEK, Inc.
